To increase representation of voices from across our council, and especially from outstate Minnesota, Wisconsin, and among our Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) members, Girl Scouts River Valleys offers the opportunity for members to serve as community delegates. These self-identified Girl Scout community representatives are installed by the Board of Directors and serve through the current membership year, which ends September 30. The allotted number of community delegates varies year-to-year based on council membership numbers and the number of elected Service Unit delegates.
Responsibilities
The main responsibility of community delegates is to attend Girl Scouts River Valleys’ Annual Meeting to vote on the slate of Board of Directors and Board Development Committee candidates and any other council business.
Requirements
You must be a current Girl Scouts River Valleys member.
Community delegates can be youth or adult members; youth members need to have turned fourteen years old by October 1 of the current year.
